Ramachandran’s penchant for the human figure saw him create multifarious paintings in which each story centred around women of the Rajasthani Bhil tribes. His meticulous observation of their posture, their clothes and their surroundings all came into play. Sometimes he brought in plantations that belonged to his native Kerala and brought in surreal elements that added to the dramatic monologue.
